The Cottage: A Reminder to Appreciate Winter!

What a full winter! Aaron & I have been running around for months, keeping very busy. At every turn, it seemed winter weather was just getting in our way and slowing us down. Living in town has been a change for both of us as well. Instead of soft snows on the hills and trees, all you see are slushy roads and salty boots! This is why it was so extraordinarily refreshing to visit Aaron’s aunt and uncle at their cottage. The cottage is a lovely place with no internet, cell service, or busy roads. Instead, there are always kind neighbours, a warm fireplace and quiet, private trails on the mountain.

We had a most wonderful weekend and were so excited to spend time with Uncle André and Aunt Renita! They were so hospitable to us and made our visit absolutely delightful. Sharing fellowship over meals, games, snowshoeing and snowboarding was exactly the break and fun that we needed.

This trip reminded us that winter is beautiful, and that warmth can be readily found amidst loving family and friends.

“The rock he jumped was THIS high!”

Ready or not…! This is probably Aaron’s very favorite part of all.

I always revel in the charming collection of details and pretty little things at the cottage.

Aunt Renita took me snowshoeing! It was a major workout, but so worth it.

Thank you SO much Uncle André and Aunt Renita! We loved our time at the cottage with you!!

I found a sweet spot with the most beautiful, soft lighting. As usual, I commanded Aaron to model for me. I’m so glad he obliged! He makes my work easy. What a handsome fella!

  1. Lovely photos Laura. You’re so talented! We really enjoyed the time together and spending the weekend with you both was such a blessing. May God continue to bless you and keep you both in his loving care.
