Erin & Keith, Engaged

I was on a crowded bus headed to downtown Ottawa when my sister called. “I’m engaged!” Anyone who has ever gotten big news on a bus knows how complicated that response is. “CONGRATULATIONS! ahem… “ (almost whispering) congratulations, I’m so happy for you!”

And I was. I was delighted. I tried to keep it down, but by the end of the ride, probably 25 passengers knew the date she was thinking, who her Maid of Honour was (excuse me while I beam), and what colours she had in mind.

Naturally, I knew I needed to make a pretty immediate trip to Kansas. Obviously she was going to need opinions on dresses and wedding plans, right? So I came. I’m still here at the moment, trying to avoid looking at the outdoor temperature. Anyway, as soon as there was opportunity, I made it out to Manhattan (the Little Apple) and met Erin and Keith for their engagement pictures. WOW. Are they not a handsome couple??

I’m proud of you, Erin. I love you so much. I am amazed by you. I wish I had half the radiance your smile does. Keith, take care of this gem. Treat her like the queen she is. Never stop making her smile. Welcome to the family!!! Congratulations, you two!

Varisty Donuts, I can see why you’re a favorite hangout! YUM. I think I would rent a workspace in your place if it weren’t 1,000 miles away. Anyone looking for a reason to go to K-State? This is it.
